The Onsite Sewage Treatment Program provides septic system owners with best management practices to keep their septic systems functioning properly. These practices are really about recycling water: cleaning wastewater and returning safe water to the water cycle. If a septic system is not functioning properly, clean water is not returned to our groundwater systems. Our goal is to ensure that you can treat your wastewater while protecting human and environmental health in a cost-effective manner.
The Septic Systems Owners Guide is a useful resource for information regarding septic system ownership.Extension Educators are available on a limited, fee for service basis, to provide homeowner workshops and training sessions on best management practices for septic systems. We also have a free 20 minute septic homeowner DVD available for loan that we will send to interested individuals. Contact the Extension Educator in your area for workshop and DVD details.
