OSTP Instructor (Education Program Spec 2)

The University of Minnesota Onsite Sewage Treatment Program is hiring an instructor who will help provide research based education and technical assistance to homeowners, small communities, onsite professionals, and local units of government regarding subsurface sewage treatment systems (SSTS). The role is housed in the Onsite Sewage Treatment Program (OSTP) located within the Water Resources Center (WRC) and is part of a team that develops and delivers the nationally recognized OSTP education program for certification of onsite sewage treatment professionals in the State of Minnesota. A strength of the OSTP is that it has a strong tie between professional education and cutting-edge SSTS research. To help maintain this connection, this position will occasionally assist the OSTP research program by supporting ongoing research projects proposal writing, data collection, analysis, literature review, and report writing.

Over the last two years, the OSTP training program has undergone significant changes, moving from a 100 percent in-person format to a range of in-person, fully online, and hybrid learning environments. Over the next several years, the program will continue this transformation, and the person in this role will be a key player in defining and implementing these changes.
